Catalysis Library
Avantium has gathered a large collection of catalytic materials that are used for developing new or improved chemical processes for the chemical industries.
Avantium's catalyst library comprises a heterogeneous catalyst library as well as a support library.
Avantium's heterogeneous catalyst library
Commercial heterogeneous catalyst library
The catalysts in this library are available on a commercial scale. Representative samples of these products from a large number of catalyst supplier companies are available 'off-the-shelf' and are ready for testing in process development projects. Avantium's commercial heterogeneous catalyst library comprises supported precious metal catalysts, base metal catalysts, zeolites, clays and various catalyst support materials.
Non-commercial heterogeneous catalyst library
The catalytic materials that are developed in catalyst discovery programs are often placed in this library, unless prohibited under confidentiality agreements. Over the course of the past few years a large collection of mono-, bi-, and tri- and multi-metallic materials have been prepared in Avantium's automated parallel catalyst preparation units. The materials are derived from many elements in the periodic table (transition metals) in combination with a series of catalyst support materials.
Avantium's support library
Avantium has a large variety of commercially available supports in its library. Its variety comes from different constitutive components, i.e. metal oxides, mixed metal oxides as well as zeolithic materials, but also from their specific characteristics such as particle size, surface area, density, etc. Moreover, Avantium has a wide range of materials in shaped forms, like extrudates or pallets. Application of these materials in catalyst screening programs together with the use of Avantium's scalable preparation methods ensure an easy transfer to commercial scales.
