YXY is the perfect solution for today's challenges, using carbohydrates as feedstock to enable the manufacture of products which are both green and sustainable. This fast and cost-effective production process is based on Avantium's catalytic technology. YXY can be implemented in existing chemical production assets. Avantium is collaborating with leading companies in the industry to develop and produce green materials and fuels based on YXY building blocks.
Situation
To strengthen our YXY Application Development Team we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced
Senior Project Leader Application Development (Chemicals)
Function & Responsibilities
The function:
- Definition of the scope of projects and the subsequent implementation/roll-out of such projects under agreed upon collaborations and partnerships in close consultation with Business Development.
- Ongoing operational coordination of work between external partners, own staff and outsourced R & D.
- Functional management and coaching of technologists and possible other contributors active within the Polyesters Project team.
- Provide (technical) support to sourcing activities and trouble-shooting at external partners.
- Project Management:
oDetermine the approach and steer the resulting experimental work of the Polyester Project program, in close collaboration with the various and diverse partners/brand owners, outsourced R & D and the project team members.
oMaintain ongoing essential internal and external communication on progress and results via reports and presentations to all internal and external parties involved.
oSafeguarding timelines, budget and quality during the entire project execution.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical Avantium coordinator in ongoing application development programs for polyesters with development partners/brand owners and externally outsourced R & D.oLead in-house technical activities in ongoing application development programs with external development partners/brand owners and ensure proper progress.
- Provide on time technical support to Business Development to support realization of striking new partnerships and collaborations.
- Provide (technical) assistance for (out-)sourcing of materials.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- A PhD degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with experience in polymer chemistry. Experience with Polyesters and Polyamides is specifically of interest
- At least 4 years of experience as a Project Leader/Project Manager in industry
- Good interpersonal skills
- Initiative
- Ability to solve problems creatively
- A result oriented way of working
Additional information
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Position: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Starting date: as soon as possible
Vacation: 25 days
