Avantium installs High Resolution XRPD unit

Recently Avantium has added a High Resolution XRPD system to its Solid State Analytical equipment. The main advantages of this system are:
- Ability of indexing patterns of single form
- Calculate the number of solvent molecules per API in solvate forms basing on crystal density and obtained unit cell parameters
- Determination crystal structure from X-ray powder data.
- More suitable patterns to include in patent applications.
- Quantitive analyses of mixture of forms, using various techniques
In addition to this, our High Throughput XRPD systems have been equipped with an optical camera, which allows pictures to be taken of the sample during X-Ray measurement. The new setup offers two big advantages:
- There is no need to take pictures of each sample before or after the X-Ray measurement, saving a substantial amount of time and effort.
- The obtained image of the sample shows an exact copy of the sample during X-ray measurement, allowing more precise analysis of the powder patterns. This eliminates any change in the condition of the sample due to manipulation before or after measurement.
The new unit enables Avantium to meet new challenges and further expand its service offering to its customers.
