news 06.09.2012 Minister Verhagen and Mr Wientjes visited Avantium to offer support in the commercialization of the YXY TechnologyOn Thursday 6 Septmber 2012, the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation, Mr. Maxime Verhagen and Mr. Bernard Wientjes, chairman of the Dutch Confederation of Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW) visited Avantium. The purpose of the visit was to share with the visitors Avantium's continuous and succesful achievements in becoming an important player in the biobased economy. In that context Messrs.Verhagen en Wientjes offered their support in Avantium's next steps in the commercialization of Avantium's YXY technology. Avantium is in the process of reviewing the various options worldwide for the location of its first commercial YXY plant. The Minister concluded that Avantium is an outstanding example of a company at the heart of the Innovation Policy of the Dutch government as it combines technology, industry experience and entrepreneurship for the chemical industry in the transition from fossil to biobased materials.
