It describes the use of small scale (1 mL) experiments for solubility studies. In this article the Crystal16 is featured in a few experimental approaches towards scalable crystallization processes.

The Crystal16 from Avantium is the only commercially available bench top system which can operate on a 1mL scale. In the article the operating principles of the Crystal16 are described and illustrated in Figure 1.
A comparison between 1 L and 1 mL experiments is shown in Figure 3, illustrating the scalability of solubility information, obtained from a Crystal16.
