Director of business development

With a background in organic chemistry and having just finished my MBA, the opportunity to gain further experience at Avantium coincided perfectly with my ambitions. Since starting as Manager of Business Development in September 2005, Avantium Chemical's rapid growth has allowed me to become Director of Business Development within 14 months. I am still impressed by this company, its state-of-the-art technology, the team spirit and entrepreneurship of my colleagues as well as the challenging goals Avantium sets itself. Due to the fact that Avantium actively develops existing and new partnerships with leading petro/chemical companies in Europe, Africa and the USA, I find myself in a highly international environment. I feel I am in the right place to excel things I enjoy immensely. It is a great sensation being involved in the growth of Avantium while learning from new opportunities worldwide surrounded by highly motivated colleagues.

There are many examples of people who have achieved a successful career within the Avantium organization. Here is just an example that highlight career development options offered by Avantium. One of the engineers who joined Avantium in 2000 moved on to become the Project Leader of our Chemicals team. Two years later he was promoted to become Senior Project Leader and is now responsible for technical development within the Tools division.
